Hello! I am the club secretary for the Knoxville, TN area VW club called The Knox Volks Motor Club. I came across your website and noticed that you don't have our annual VW show on your events page. Last year we had a couple of nice folks travel up from FL for our show and they had a blast. And we would love to see more people from FL this year. I think you can help us with that.

This is our 5th year to host this show and this year our proceeds go to an animal shelter named Pets without Parents. They are a local no kill shelter and have a presence at our show with dogs that are available for adoption. To find out more about their organization, you can visit their facebook page.

Vintage Dubs of Ocala will host our monthly meet at the Sonic Drive-In on Easy Street in Ocala from 4pm until 7pm.

Directions to Murphys:

Coming from Oakdale area on Highway 108:
Go northeast to Sonora. When you reach the stop light in Sonora, turn left (north) onto Highway 49. Go through Sonora and continue into Angels Camp. Turn right at the stop light onto Murphys Grade Road. Follow this road into Murphys. When you get into town, the Murphys Hotel will be on your right. Take the first street past the hotel, to the right. This is Algiers Street. The park and parking lot will be down Algiers just a bit further.

Coming from Stockton area on Highway 4 east:
Stay on Highway 4 until you reach Angels Camp. Turn right onto Highway 49 (this is also Main Street) and take a left at the next stop light. This is Murphys Grade Road. Follow this road into Murphys. When you get into town, the Murphys Hotel will be on your right. Take the first street past the hotel, to the right. This is Algiers Street. The park and parking lot will be down Algiers just a bit further.

First VW show of the season!! March 18, 2012. Towe's Auto Museum in Sacramento, CA is opening their VW Invasion exhibit. We thought it would be cool to have an all aircooled VW car show to help open up the exhibit with a bang! All proceeds go directly to the museum and they need all of the help they can get. The car show will be in the parking lot directly behind the museum (under the freeway). The parking lot is paved and offers protection from the sun or rain.

**Show hours are 10 am-3 pm**Rain or Shine**Free for spectators**

-All aircooled VW's are welcome

-Music

Car show entry will be $10 if pre-registered or $15 at the gate the day of the show. Swap spaces will be $20 and that includes 2 parking spaces. Vendor spaces are free!

Members of the area VW clubs have been invited, along with some local VW parts vendors. You do not need to be a NIVA member to swap, shop or sell. ALL VW enthusiasts are welcome. There is plenty of room for participants and there are a few fast-food restaurants nearby. This is our sixth year at the fairgrounds and we are looking forward to another excellent turnout.

Clean out your garages, basements or sheds and find buyers for the VW parts & stuff that you've accumulated over the years. Looking to get an early start on your Spring project? Find the parts you need. Have some cool toys and/or memorabilia that you'd like to sell? This is the place to do it. Are you looking to expand your toy and memorabilia collection? There will be sale items for you as well.

Please bring tables and chairs if you need them.

Travel historic Az. Rte. 66 from Lake Havasu City Az. to the Grand Canyon
Caverns. Stops at "The Old Car Lot" on Rte 66, the Rte 66 Visitors Center
and Museum. Lunch and gas up in Kingman Az. Approx. 130 miles from LHC
to GCC.

We will leave from the Terrible Herbst Chevron Station Az. I-40 Exit #9 at 9AM

Grand Canyon Caverns campground has electric, water at most of the dry camps,

Meet us in the Middle for a gathering of VW enthusiasts from Southern and Central California. The location is beautiful Nojoqui Falls Park in Santa Barbara County. It is near the Danish style city of Solvang. Take the short hike up the trail to the falls that are usually flowing nicely this time of year.
There is no charge to get in.

Raffle:
We are still working on the details for this. As usual we will also have our big roll around tool chest and other cool stuff.
Help us out and bring something to raffle. It doesn't matter how small it is, we will package together items to make a good prize. Any non VW prizes would be great also. Just bring to the BBQ whatever you have to donate. Or mail to Brian O'Kelly, 2014 Kleck Rd, Paso Robles, CA 93446

Awards:
Now's your chance to get back at all those event organizers who never get it right Wink. Bring your own award, serious, funny, or just outside the box to give to whoever you think is deserving. You can announce it yourself or we will do it according you your instructions!

If you bring an award come by the BBQ and get a notice to put on the car so they show up to the awards/raffle.

This is a fun alternative to the usual show awards. Be creative and have some fun!

BBQ:
We will have a huge group BBQ fired up so all you have to do is bring your favorite BBQ to throw on the grill.
Burger, Chips and a Drink will also be available for $5.

Stealth Swap:
Official swapping is not allowed in the park (no tables or parts on the ground)
However...You can bring stuff to sell or trade, but it must be low profile, in your car would be the way to go.

The next Full Moon Festival will be April 6th, 7th and 8th with PreParty on Thursday the 5th. The moon is full on Friday the 6th. The moon will rise an hour before sunset on Thursday, and it will rise at sunset on Friday and on Saturday the moon will rise one hour after sunset. Major Full Moon all weekend.

This year we have decided to expand a bit. We will be hosting a pre show party, Navigational Rally and a beach cruise inn (weather, and tides permitting). It will all be free of course and a true VW enthusiast event. No Dough is relaxed event all centered around our mutual love for VW's and the passion for them we share as enthusiasts. It will be a peoples choice show with new and used swap. Used swap is free and will be (Bulli) style which is swap next to your vehicle. Bring your vintage bikes, Skateboards, roller skates cause the venue make a great place to roll around. We are also encouraging people to set up vintage displays or cool camp setups. Plenty of shade, food vendors and real bathrooms.

Lo Cash Navigational Rally:

Back by popular demand, free to enter and hosted by Low Cash Racing. A navigational Rally in the style of the Berg rally. Its a challenging way to have fun with your VW. Participants will be given a list of clues and questions. Speed is not encouraged but accuracy and a good navigator is. It has proven to be a blast and is a great family or team experience. The rally will be departing from the show venue and will be ending at a local restaurant which will shortly be announced. An event not to be missed

A beach gathering on the Worlds most famous beach.....well just south of it. We'll be gathering on the beach between Dunlawton blvd and El Portal st. Were trying to set a record for VW's on the beach and it would be a great spot for a photo shoot.

Friday, April 13th:

The Niello Volkswagen Ranch Run kicks off with a Rally & Cruise hosted by Sac Water. The Rally begins at Niello Volkswagen (Arden at Fulton in Sacramento), at 6:00 p.m. and will end at Roseville's Sonic Burger & Drive-In. Rally participants can expect a competitive, fun and safe cruise around Sacramento in their beloved VW. And for those not participating in the Rally, they can meet up for the Cruise-in at Sonic Burger, which will start around 6:30 pm with music, great food, and an awesome display of VWs.

Saturday, April 14th:

Come enjoy coffee and donuts at Bugformance (1620 El Camino Avenue, Sacramento) from 8 am – 10 am. You'll be able to tour the shop, enjoy some delicious morning treats and enjoy special pricing for Ranch Run participants.

The day will continue with an Open House from 10 am – 4 pm at Universal Technical Institute, UTI (4100 Duckhorn Drive, Sacramento). Guests will enjoy lunch, campus tours, live music and more. They will also be doing $20 dyno runs for cars that pass Tech and the money is donated to Ride to Walk.

The action moves from UTI to Tuna’s Buggy Works (3220 Swetzer Road, Loomis) for dinner and continued fun, from 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm.

There will be a Saturday evening Ranch Run Round Up at the Boxing Donkey Bar & Grill 300 Lincoln Street Roseville with incredible food & drink specials from 7:00 pm on into the night.

Sunday, April 15th – The Main Event:

Meet at Niello VW the dealer will open at 6am and the CHP escort will leave at 8am to head to the Ride to Walk Ranch. While at the Ranch, you’ll enjoy the park like setting, incredible raffles, 50/50, four live bands, great food, an impressive showcase of water and air-cooled VWS, catch and release fishing, kids activities, valve cover racing and more!

Join C3Vs for our third annual Spring Cruise on Saturday April 14th, 2012. Here are the details:

Spring Cruise to Jamestown/Surry and back! Meet at McDonald's on 13131 Kingston Avenue, Chester, VA 23836 by 10am. Once we are all ready to go we will proceed East on Route 10 through Hopewell. Make a left onto Route 156 crossing over the James River until we arrive at Route 5. Turn right (east) on Route 5 until we come to Greensprings Rd (Route 614) and turn right there. Of course, while we are on Route 5 we can stop at any of the plantations to sight see and takes some pictures of our rides.

Once we are on Route 614 take that until it dead-ends at Jamestown Rd (Rt 31) and turn right towards the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry. Then take the ferry across the James. Once in Surry we can grab lunch at the Surry House Restaurant & Country Inn. Afterwards we cross back over the James on the ferry and pull off for some pictures in Old Jamestown. Last year some members of the Peninsula VW Club in Hampton Roads took us on a short drive to some very cool spots to take some neat pictures.

Everyone, please come join NDK as we rough it for the weekend! We will be staying at the Lakeview Campground at Rancho Jurupa Park in Riverside Ca, Friday night thru Sunday afternoon April 20th-22nd 2012!

We are hoping to all stay near each other reserving the spots 57-61 and 75-80. This section of the camp ground has elec & water hookups for you sissy trailer campers, spots are right near the showers and the lake. There is a $7 reservation fee and it's $25 a night; BUT they allow 2 cars per site! Our thinking is we are all friends here so lets share! Costing you a wonderful $28.50 for 2 nights of camping fun!

The Lakevie campground site offers 2 common areas nearby for activities (horse shoes, volley ball, washers... What ever you can dream up!) There are also fire rings in each spot, you are allowed two tents and there are picnic tables just across the way! Once again the Car Show at this years BUG-IN 37 is FREE thanks to our sponsor Wolfsburg West. Any year or model VW is welcome to participate, and we just about have a class for everyone. Our car show is divided into two separate categories; Vintage and Custom. Among those categories are different classes split up by model and year. It is completely up to the participant whether they want to be judged in the Custom class, or the Vintage Class.
New for 2012, we have moved the Car Show's location. Instead of being in the back lot behind the tower, the new Car Show location will be just pass the Grandstands between the Vendor area and Pits.

:::Swap/Vendor Info:::
Swap Meet Spaces are for private parties selling "used" parts only. If you are a business or shop selling new or used parts, you will need to get a Vendor spot.
Vendor Spaces at this year Manufactures Midway will be located right in the middle of all the action, directly alongside the track and behind the grandstands. Each spot is aprox 15’x20’ and will include 4 Spectator Admission tickets.

:::Hotel Info:::
Once again the Radisson Ontario Airport will be the Host Hotel for the weekends activities. They will be offering a special $70 Room Rate, and hosting the Saturday night “Legends Mixer”. Call call 1-800-333-3333 to make your reservation. Rooms are going fast!

:::Camping Info:::
We will once again be having the “GOWESTY Campout” hosted by the VTO and West Coast Bays bus clubs. Just like last year, this campout is open to VW based camping vehicles only. (No RV’s or trailers) Participants may camp Saturday night at the raceway in a special designated area and are encouraged to bring items such as old bicycles, surfboards, and vintage camping equipment to decorate their “camp site”. On Sunday we will hand out some “special” camping based awards for some of those who participated.
Move-In time will be on Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 6pm. Each camper will be $30. This will include your admission to the BUG-IN the next day, and give you a wristband which will allow you to come and go throughout the evening.

We will be doing potluck dinner followed by island dance party on Saturday night. This being a private campground, open containers are abound all weekend!
Tell your friends/family etc. even if they don't own a VW yet... this would be the perfect opportunity to brainwash/infect them with the disease. This is a really great campout...lots to do... Over 200 acres in the woods along the Santa Fe River with a hour and a half tube flote and several crystal clear springs to explore!
The turnout was great in the past with almost 100 people and 50 vdubs!! We had some come from as far away as Virginia Beach and N. Carolina!!! I hope you can join us and make this one even better... families too as we had quite a few kidilums last spring and they were fantastic... come for one night or the entire 3 day weekend...we would love to meet you!
We camp near the boat ramp in a large group setting.

All sites are on first come basis, however if you are willing to prepay we can reserve you a site ahead of time plus you'll get a few dollar discount. PM if interested.

P.S. Dont' forget your costume for Motormouth Monks (The VW Teki God) Island Dance Party! Be sure to come wearing your best island attire such as loin cloths and war paint for the guys and grass skirts and co-co-nut tops for the girls. Really anything island/carribean like goes! Pirates welcome! We encourage your creativity for this years costumes!

Come on out for a full weekend of fun hosted by OEBC. Featherly Regional Park (aka- Canyon RV Park) in Yorba Linda is where it all takes place. The campout starts Friday afternoon and is open to all aircooled Volkswagens. It continues Saturday with VW-related movies shown in our All-Aircooled VW Drive-in. Your friends at Wolfsburg West will be popping popcorn for FREE again. Camping is $15 per night per vehicle w/ 2 occupants. $2 each additional person.
Sunday is the 13th ANNUAL SPRING PICNIC. Park on the grass under big shady trees and enjoy the day. Hot-Dog Fred will be there serving-up Bratwurst and Hot-Dogs. Wolfsburg West will once again be sponsoring the SLOW-DRAGS with a $200 purse for Bus and Beetle class. Entrance in the Slow-Drags is FREE and it is tons of fun. Okay guys,.......here's our chance to have a V-DUB car show/ swap meet in our area.

"Bugs on the Hooch" will be a family friendly, cool car event. We'd like to see all the " 10 on a scale of 10" cars, as well as the "hood rides and ratts".

We are located right next door to a park with a boat landing, bait shop, and picnic area....so there's something for eveyone. Bring the whole family and have a fun day at the park. Google the address and you'll see we have a wonderful location for this type of car show.

There will be fenced in area for vendors/swappers, with consessions provided.

All vendors and swap meet folks should contact me for availibility. There will be no cost for vendors/swappers. Admission to the show is free for all.

There will be corporate sponsers and maybe a BBQ cook-off.

We will choose a charity in our area. more on that later.

The Austin Air Coolers Volkswagen Gang presents the 2012 June Bug VW Rally.
This is a gimmick Rally thru the streets of Austin on Saturday, June 16. Registration opens at 2pm. Drivers meeting at 3:30pm and first VW out on the Rally at 4pm.

The event starts at Austin's Pizza, 1817 S Lamar and will take drivers on about a 2 hour rally all over Austin. The teams will be given a set of directions with questions to be answered as they make their way on the rally route. The final ending spot is top secret. The driver/navigator that answers the most questions correctly wins!

We expect to have 40+ Air Cooled VW's competing for the 2012 Air Coolers June Bug Rally Championship.

The Austin Air Coolers is a group of folks who love old air cooled VW’s, Beetles, Buses, Karmann Ghias. We meet on the 1st Thursday of every month at the Deep Eddy Pool parking lot and then head down S Congress for a Air Cooled Tour De Force before ending up at our ‘gang’ out, Austin’s Pizza on S Lamar.

The Omaha Volkswagen Club is pleased to host our 27th, annual Show and Shine June 16th in nearby Louisville, Nebraska. Plan on spending the day and see why the OVWC Show and Shine has become one of the oldest and largest shows in the Midwest. This year’s show is open to all makes and models of Volkswagens and will be participant judged. Gates open at 8:00a.m. Judging begins at 11:00 with awards and trophies at 3:00p.m.
Louisville, a small bedroom community outside of Omaha shall make for a nice atmosphere in a quaint old-fashioned setting. Our show is a family event with games, great raffle prizes, good food, music and nice trophies. For those wishing to camp, we have reserved an area at nearby Louisville State Lakes. Camping facilities include several state lakes, electrical hook-ups, swim beach and showers all on the banks of the Platte River. Those wishing to camp please notify Omaha VW Club no later than April 15, 2012.
To get to Louisville get off I-80 on exit # 440 and take Highway NE-50 south twelve miles.

The 24th Annual Litchfield Bug In will be held again on Fathers Day , June 17, at the Harwinton Fairgrounds in Harwinton, Connecticut. Location is 175 Locust Road off Route 4. Show goes from 9am to 3 pm. Swap vendors admitted at 7am, show awards at 3:30. The show averages 300 plus VWs of every year with both watercooled and aircooled classes. Over 100 awards given out along with best of show awards. Swap meet with both new and used parts with around 100 vendors.
Camping night before on the grounds @ $15 per vehicle. Clean modern restrooms with hot showers on grounds. Restrooms will be locked at 9pm Sat night and will reopen early Sunday morning. Porta Johns available for night use. Swap spaces are approx 20 x 20 feet @ $30 per spot. Car and driver for show entries is $15 with additional passengers @ $9 . Spectators $9. Kids free. Food available by several food vendors throughout the day. Pancake breakfast at nearby fireman's garage on Route 4 on Sunday morning. All proceeds from the VW show go to local charity (Callahan Community Fund). Come enjoy yourself and help us raise money for a local cause.

I know the north has plenty of dub enthusiasts and as a jdm fool id love to create an event that allows both sides to show their stuff. It'll start around 6 so we have plenty of light then maybe go hop on 176 for a cruise and to take some rolling shots. Tell everyone you know, no matter what they drive. If its stock bring it, if its slammed bring it, boosted bring it. This show is all about having a chill time and seeing some beautiful cars.

Along with this Upton Festival organisers are introducing a 2nd Stage to 2012, geared up fully to local & fringe acts to give the local community a chance to show their talents;

Organisers say: “our newest and greatest achievement so far for the 2012 event is the great local support and push behind the festival on networking sites such as facebook and through our website also. We have been inundated with local acts that want to perform at the festival to push their own band profile, so much so that we have linked together with Cheltenham’s live music venue Subtone to launch a ‘battle of the bands’ type competition. The Golden Gate Chapter (GGC) of the Vintage Volkswagen Club of America will be sponsoring the 12th Solvang VW Veteranentreffen Weekend on September 21, 22, and 23 in Solvang, CA. Everyone arrives in town on Friday and gets together informally. Saturday will be the car show and swap meet held at the Santa Ines' Mission located at 1760 Mission Drive in Solvang from 8am to 3pm. Saturday evening there will be a RESERVATIONS-ONLY dinner at the Pea Soup Andersen's Restaurant in Buellton. For dinner reservations call (408) 683-0154 after 7pm NO LATER than Sunday, September 9. Sunday will be the VW caravan and wine tour starting sharply at 10 am in front of the Hotel Corque (formally the Royal Scandinavian Inn). September 29, 2012 - Route 66 Cruisers Car Club 5th Annual Car Show
Claremore, Oklahoma

We have a Volkswagen class with excellent participation and would love to have more VW's of all types...air and water cooled.
The car show will be held at beautiful Claremore Lake. Three trophies will be given per class with over 50 classes. Also, drawings will be held throughout the day for cash & giveaways prizes totaling more than $1,000. Awards will be given out at 4:00 p.m.
The lake is beautiful and there are plenty of shade trees, picnic tables and a playground for the kiddies. Registration: Pre-register by mail before Sept.15, 2012 for $15 and be entered into a $50 drawing! Register the day of the show between 8:00-11:00 am for $20. Proceeds from the event benefit the Shriner’s Transportation Fund! This fund transports local children from this area to and from Shriner’s Hospitals.

We are going to meet Every Third Saturday of the Month Debbie and I plan on having the same event (most likely at the Sonic, but if the group gets bigger, will need to move locations).

These pictures were taken by Tony at the Sonic Cruise-In on Wells Rd in Orange Park
Saturday evening May 5th 2007. The Type 1s ranged from two
1957 Bugs up to a 2004 Mexi Bug, a Type 2 Bus and a Type 3 Fastback.
We also welcomed an older model Mini Cooper 1000 to the group.
We gave away a $50 Gift Certificate to Lo Cash Racing.
Several couples went to dinner afterwards.
You can be a part of the group, simply mark your calendars for the
FIRST SATURDAY EACH MONTH
and meet with us at 6-8 pm at the Sonic Drive-In, 1711 Wells Rd, orange Park.
